This seminar is designed for all managers and project leaders who have recently taken on a leadership role, want to quickly get oriented, and avoid unnecessary mistakes. It is especially aimed at individuals without prior knowledge in people management, particularly technical and engineering professionals.

Participants will fully understand their managerial role within the company, quickly get oriented, and clarify their responsibilities and priorities.   • The role and mission of a manager at various levels of management – key managerial competencies – self-analysis, personal strengths and opportunities for improvement – why be a manager at all, personal motivation of participants.
  • Leadership styles today – old versus new approach to people, when people are productive and what conditions managers need to create, myths and misconceptions in management, the technician as a manager, female managers, younger people leading older generations.
  • Parameters of good goals, how to take on tasks from superiors and pass them on – when goals are motivating and what to avoid, the SMART - PEK rule.
  • Managerial communication – principles of effective communication, preparation for interviews, effective transmission and reception of information, verbal and non-verbal communication and their impact on people’s engagement.
  • Conducting managerial interviews – structure and principles of conducting interviews in any managerial situation, what to watch out for and how to keep the interview under control.
  • Delegating tasks – why it is crucial, what tasks to delegate and what not to, delegation styles and motivating people – how to handle employee objections.
  • Motivating people – what motivates people, motivational and hygiene factors, differences between generations and positions. The 5 Whys method to incorporate motivation into every conversation.
  • Where are my people – situational matrix. Manager’s plan for developing their people and collaborating with them.
  • Giving and receiving feedback, criticism and appreciation – dealing with mistakes as a manager – how to prepare for and conduct conversations to allow for correction without unnecessary conflict.
  • Performance control and evaluation – why and how to do it quickly and well, the importance of recognition and celebrating successes for the growth of people and companies.
  • Participants’ action plans.

Metody výuky

Interesting scientific insights delivered in an experiential way. Learning through play. Moderated discussions among participants, maximum focus on practicing practical situations, role-playing, personal tests, group and individual work, case studies, video training.
